Just a few tenths off his first podium: Luis Moser impresses at the Norisring
The Norisring is regarded as one of the most demanding rounds on the ADAC GT4 Germany calendar: tight, fast and with no run-off areas. Three days of pure action.

Sunday: A second race with two very different halves
Race two began for Luis from P9, and right in the chaos of the start there was contact with a Mercedes that had crashed into the back of him, initially dropping him back to P10. But his response was not long in coming: an overtaking manoeuvre, followed by a double overtaking manoeuvre, took him up to P7 and allowed the gap to Silvestersson’s car #51 to grow.
From lap 5 onwards, increasing understeer became noticeable, causing the promising pace of the early stages to level off. Luis was subsequently overtaken again and handed the car over to Luca in P8. Luca used the handover to adjust the tyre pressure and was thus able to reclaim P7, the position in which the duo eventually finished the race.
Conclusion: An important step forward
Overall, however, the Norisring was a strong weekend: P4 following an unparalleled comeback from 13th on the grid in the first race and P7 in the second race are results that show Luis and Luca are consistently capable of competing for the top positions this season.
With 46 points and 5th place in the overall standings, the pair are raring to go for the rest of the season. Oschersleben is already just under three weeks away. It remains to be seen whether they’ll secure their first podium of the season there. Given their performances so far, however, it’s more a question of when rather than if.

In free practice, particularly in FP2, the car felt as if it were on rails, and Luis handed over to his team-mate in P1, who finished the session in P3.
Saturday: Qualifying and a picture-perfect comeback
Overnight, the balance found in FP2 was lost somewhat due to the cooler morning temperatures, which benefited the Porsche cars. Luca Link secured 13th on the grid for the first race in the afternoon during the first qualifying session. Luis managed to secure 9th on the grid for Sunday’s race in the second qualifying session.
What followed in the first race was motor racing at its best. Luca fought his way up from P13 and handed the car over to his team-mate in P8. Luis took over, overtook in two clean manoeuvres to move up to P6 and subsequently engaged in an intense battle over several laps with Roman Fellner-Feldegg in the Mercedes AMG GT4.
The decisive moment came at Turn 1: late braking, skilful use of the kerb to rotate the car, and Luis took P5 from his rival – in a magnificent manoeuvre. Luis then even managed to move up to P4, where he finished the race.
In the end, only a few seconds separated Luis and Luca from the podium. Without the full-course yellow phase shortly before the end of the race, P3 would certainly have been a realistic prospect. The pace was there; the podium will come.
